Nomenclature: Drosera venusta Debbert
Although not a true (published) synonym, Debbert informally used the name Drosera coccicaulis before publication and cultivated plants still sometimes circulate under this name. These plants are Drosera venusta.

Description:
Distribution in South Africa: WC, EC
Habitat: Permanently wet mountain streamsides and seepages. This species is opportunistic and frequently colonizes artificial habitat such as roadside ditches.
Conservation: Widespread in the Garden Route region and recorded from multiple protected areas. Invasive species threaten montane populations.
Phenology:
Taxonomy & Variation: No notable variation between populations. Sometimes erroneously referred to as a synonym of D. natalensis.

A suspected hybrid between D. venusta and D. aliciae near Stormsrivier
D. venusta is easily distinguished from D. aliciae by its rosette of semi-erect leaves. D. aliciae forms a more sessile rosette.
