Taxonomy & Variation: D. slackii is variable across its range. At the easternmost point of its distribution near Stanford, plants have wider leaves than those from the type location of Hermanus. In the Kogelberg around the Palmiet River, the plants have distinctly narrow leaves.
Drosera slackii is restricted to the Kleinrivier and Kogelberg mountain ranges.
The thick red hairs on the undersides of the leaves make D. slackii easily distinguishable from all other Drosera in the Cape
Plants from around the Palmiet River have narrower leaves than those of plants from the Kleinrivier Mountains.
Plants from near Stanford have exceptionally wide leaves
